Tuesday 5-29-12 the easiest decision
The easiest decision I ever had to make was between ice cream or frozen yogurt. It happened last Saturday night when I went out with my mom and sister. I like ice cream way better than frozen yogurt so it was a very easy choice to pick. That was the easiest decision I ever had to make

Sibling order Quick write Wednesday 5-23-12
I am the youngest of my brother and sister. One good thing about being the youngest is that you had older siblings try out new things and they can tell you what is bad and what is good. Another good thing about being the youngest is that I get to play the sympathy card with my parents. They often times are persuaded but there are times where they wont fall for anything. The last good thing about being born third is that I can get my brother and sister in trouble easily. My parents don't tolerate it when my brother and sister curse or do bad things so they trust my accusation and punish them. A couple bad things about being born last is that my brother and sister always leave me out of going places and never want to do things with me. They also pick on me because of my age and make me feel that I have no experience. Lastly, they get a lot more freedom and privileges than I do. All in all, being the youngest child is a bittersweet life.

There are some unanswered questions in my life. One of these unanswered questions is "what career will I take when I get older and start my independent life?". Another unanswered question I have is "where did life come from?". There isn't only one icon that applies to my life. An additional one that applies to me is patterns. An example of this is that I get up monday through friday and go to school from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..(There is an exception with tuesdays) This pattern will continue until I graduate high school.

What i would have as my left hand 5-21-12 Monday
There are a few things that I think would be cool to have as my left hand. One of the coolest choices for my left hand would be to make it a snow leopard. If I had one on my left hand, it could act as a defense mechanism and snow leopards are really cute! If I had no other means of transportation, I would ride the snow leopard. I suppose it wouldn't be the best substitute for my left hand, but considering that they are one of my favorite animals, I would replace it in a heartbeat!

Detailed plan for my survey for my persuasive letter 5-8-12 Tuesday
To start my survey off, I would go to the student store at lunch. I would wait for five minutes and try to count how many people would say bad words in those five minutes. I would only count really bad words. Words such as stupid, jerk and crap aren't considered that bad in my opinion. I assume that the results would be very big. In those five minutes I expect to hear at least 100 bad words. It's a pretty high assumption, but it is middle school and the majority of people swear and cuss.
Three survey questions 5/7/12 monday
1. How many people have said bad words at least once today?
2. How often do you hear people swear? -not very often -very often -sometimes -all the time ~ Three votes from my pod
3.When in the seventh grade eating area, how many people use inappropriate language? -everyone - almost no one -some people
#2 was chosen to be my survey question

If i were to give up one of my senses 5/2/12 Wednesday
If I were to give up one of my senses it would be smell. All of the other senses would be extremely hard to live without, but losing my sense of smell could have it's benefits. One benefit you would get from losing your smell would be that you wouldn't have to smell foul things. It would be easier to withstand gross and dirty things. In my opinion, you wouldn't have to adapt to losing your smell. Everything but smell can help you in everyday life. To me smell is merely a handy addition. If i had to lose one sense, this would be my choice.
3 things i wish seventh graders wouldn't do 4-30-12 monday
There are three things that seventh graders so that i wish they didn't do. An example of one of them is how they clump up in groups in the halls. They do this because they want to talk to their friends, but they end up blocking big portions of the hallway. Another thing I wish they didn't do is goof-off in class. I think they do this to attract attention, and because they don't have the determination to get their work done. Lastly is when they swear and use inappropriate language. Usually they do this because they want to seem older and cooler. Other times they do this because all of their other friends are doing it as well. I think the worst is the cussing. Overall, if they put their minds to it, seventh graders could change dramatically.

If i found a 100$. 4-24-12 Tuesday
If I had one hundred dollars, I would buy a shetland sheepdog. I have always wanted a dog, and Shetland Sheepdogs are adorable and just the right size. I think buying a pure bred puppy would be expensive, and it would ignore the needs of all the homeless dogs in the animal shelters. I would try to get one from the pound, but that would take a lot of time and effort to find that specific breed. I love animals, so this would be an awesome way to spend one hundred dollars.
What i wish seventh graders would do 4-23-12 Monday

15.not think kids who play instruments are band geeks.
16. not obsess over their appearance.
17.stop asking people for food.
18.not throw food at each other.
19.stop bullying.

How I think teachers grade work 4/20/12 Friday
My teachers grade my work in many different ways. One way is when they collect our graded homework. They usually grade this by how many questions we get right. Another way is that they count how much effort we put in to it. Lastly is if we complete the assignment on the correct time put for us. I think that they should grade u on how much effort we put in to the assignment. This way you will get credit for trying and not just getting the questions correct. Although I am not a teacher, I think I have a good understanding on how things should be graded.

One thing that i hate 4-19-12 Thursday
I hate it when people argue about things they have no clue about. They are stubborn and think they're always right, even though they have no facts supporting their argument. The benefit I get from hating it is that I feel like I am more open minded than they are. It isn't the best benefit, but at least it gives me somewhat of a confidence boost. It costs me time wasted trying to knock some sense into them. On the other hand, it would definitely take a lot for me to stop hating it. I suppose if people thought before they started to open their mouths, it would clear up some of the conflict. It is really annoying but overall, you have to find a way to get over it.

Pass the Salt worksheet Monday 4-16-12
Emotional Language: Remember when I spoon fed you soup when you were sick? Well, the least you could do to pay me back is to pass the salt.
Cause and Effect: If you don't pass the salt, then I will have to sit here and eat salt-less, unappealing food.
Generalizations: All teenagers love to put delicious salt on their food, so why do I have to be the exception?
Rhetorical Question: Are you really just going to sit there and not pass the salt?
Downplaying: While your just sitting there, why don't you simply pass the salt to someone closer to me so you don't have to reach all the way to me?
Analogy: This food is so bland without salt that it tastes like paper. But it could turn into an exquisite meal if you just pass the salt...

three best and worst things about me 4-16-12 Monday
There are three great things about me, and three bad things. The first positive thing about me is my personality. Everyone seems to find me interesting with the things i like and the choices i make. Next would be my ability to get good grades, otherwise known as my intelligence. This I am especially proud of beacuse it's a life skill that helps you so much. The last positive thing about me would be my sense of humor. I can always make people laugh and feel happy no matter what mood they are in. But of course im am not all full of positive things. One negative thing about me is my laziness. Sometimes I have no motivation to get jobs done, and I generally am reluctant to work. Next I would say is my clumsiness. I am constantly tripping on things, and making clumsy movements that throw things all over the place. And for my third worst thing about me, I would choose my short attention span. I hate it when I'm asking someone something and instantly my attention gets diverted for something stupid. Overall these bad and good thing all make up who I am.

Persuasive techniques my teachers use 4-13-12 Friday
My advisory teacher is mrs.vandergeet, and she usually uses generalizations. Next is my first period teacher Mr.Rhodes. He likes to use downplay a lot. After Mr.Rhodes is my second period teacher Mr.Taguchi. Mr.Taguchi likes using analogies, and uses them quite often. My third period teacher is Mrs.Benigno, and she uses cause and effect. After her is of course my fourth period English teacher Mr.McCabe. I would say that he uses emotional language. Next is Mrs.Kelly for fifth period. She honestly doesn't have to use persuasion on us, but when she does she uses analogies just like Mr.Taguchi. And last but not least is Mr.Kelly who uses downplay. Mostly the persuasion works for all of my teachers, but I'm sure that the students have a few tricks up their sleeves!

My first full time job 4-11-12 wednesday
After i graduate from a great university, i believe that my first job will be a journalist at a newspaper in either Los Angeles or NewYork. After I have spent enough time being a journalist, i would like to work my way up to being the highest editor in the company. I would try to start working with one of the smaller companies such as the daily news, then work my way up to either the L.A times, or the New York Times. The company would hire me because I am dedicated, a hard worker, and would thoroughly enjoy working for them. Over all, I hope to start small and then aim for the stars.

My most prized possession 3-28-12 wednesday
My most favorite and prized possession would be my awesome cat Piper. She is the best cat that i could have asked for. Piper likes to be playful and to snuggle. She can also hunt down lizards and birds! When ever I come home from school or any where, i always hear her silver bell jingling as she runs to greet me. Although she is sometimes vicious and angry, i still love her wether she claws open my face or not. I have only known my kitten for 2 and a half years but she occupies a large part of my heart.

The most beautiful thing Monday 3-26-12
The most beautiful thing I've seen with my own eyes would be the stars when I went to Pali camp. It was way up heigh in the mountains, so there weren't any city lights to block out the beauty of the stars. It seemed like there were 20 million more stars up in the sky compared to in the city. We got to just lay out in the wilderness and admire the beauty. Overall, this was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Growing up 3-22-12 thursday
The best thing about moving up to middle school is that you don't feel as small anymore. When you said that you were in fourth or fifth grade, the general reaction to that would be that you were so cute and little. As you move into middle school you start to feel that you are more independent and less "cute". You can start doing more things alone with your friends. I think that the best thing about moving up to high school will be the different people and atmosphere. There are a lot more people to interact with and the campus is bigger due to the fact that they need to accommodate for all of the kids. Nonetheless, school is a wild ride!

4.little red riding hood: your destination should be secret! And to not talk to things that normally don't talk
5.three little pigs: don't settle for the easy way out
6.rumplestilskin: don't lie to people! ( especially people with power)

Persuasion Friday 3-16-12
I'm pretty good at persuading people. Whenever I want something that someone says I can't do or have,I always give them logical reasons why I should get what I want. An example of this would be when I want to go to Starbucks after school. If my brother who picks me up doesn't want to go, I'll say that if he takes me I'll pay for him. This usually persuades him to take me and he ends up paying. Another tactic I use is bringing my good grades into the subject. For example, if I tell my dad that I got an A on a test, he'll be more likely to let me get my way. My last technique would be begging. This technique is not the best to use and often doesn't have a great outcome. But if it does run it's course well, I would be a happy camper. Overall there are times where I don't always get what I want, but when I put these tactics into effect I feel pretty confident in persuading people!

My life as a brand advertiser 3-14-12
My favorite company is anthropologie. Anthropologie has the most unique and charming clothes and products. Their products are very vintage and very classy. Another reason that I love this company is that there are so many different things in their store. You could go into the shop and see teacups and doorknobs where there is bedding and skirts. Lastly, everyone is very friendly and are always willing to help you. It is abig store and the employees are always greatful to help. Overall, this store is my all time favorite company.

Quickwrite 2-28-12 Tuesday Character Change
In the outsiders, Johnny changed from being soft spoken to being more confident in his thoughts and opinions. I know this because in the first couple of chapters, he's always defending Dally and is very quiet. But all of a sudden after he kills Bob, he starts to act more independent. After all it was his idea to turn himself in ; which if you were to hear this in the beginning of the book, you would think that he was a totally different character.

Accusing my so called "Friend" Wednesday, 1-25-12
If I saw a video of my friend taking something from me, then I would be thoroughly convinced. Otherwise, if i hear from numerous sources that the person took something from me, then I would most likely be convinced. Also I would have to confront them and see if they are lying to me about stealing. If the person lies, then I guess I would need to find more trustworthy friends. If you really have to think about your friend stealing from you, then you probably shouldn't even be friends with that person in the first place.

Good:

Quickwrite Monday 1-23-12 Stereotypes
1. Girls are sensitive.
2. Boys are sometimes ignorant.
3. Seventh graders are toilet washers.
4. Teachers are your future.
5. Unicorns are sadly nonexistent.
6. Kittens are so adorable!
A stereotype that someone cast me in was that I was evil/ planning to blowup the world, because I'm half Persian.
Stereotype: People from the middle east are all evil.
Totally ignorant and definitely not cool!

Writing the Lead Tuesday 1-17-12
1. News Lead- Summarizing the story in at most 2 senteces (who, what, where, when , why and how)
A 21 year old man named Sam Shahnazi was caught in a suspicious taxi cab robbery of some sort in Chicago Illinois. The 3 suspects' motive was unknown, but luckily Mr.Shahnazi was unhurt, and left with a riveting story to tell.
2. One fact lead- Start with the one most important or amazing fact
A man named Sam Shahnazi escaped from having a bullet from a shotgun take his life away.
3.Mysterious lead- Start with a quote or fact that doesn't make sense until you read more
When you ride a taxi and pay with another form than money, something has to be going on.
"They agreed and as they opened the sleeping bag to hand it to me, there was a shotgun sitting inside", Mr.Shahnazi explained.

Expert Quickwrite tuesday 1-10-12
I'm kind of an expert on Harry Potter. Whenever someone asks me a question, most likely I don't hesitate to answer it. Of course there are somethings that I don't know, but then again, I do have somewhat of a social life rather than just sitting at home learning every detail about Harry Potter. I have read 3 of the books, and have watched all of the movies ( even the newest ones). The movies are really adventurous and interesting, rather than a predictable mystery movie. I would definitely go see a Harry Potter movie than go see a generic chick flick movie. Yuck! I still would like to read the rest of the books, but for now I'm content with how up to date I am with it.

Quickwrite Monday 1-9-12
Girl gets Nook for Christmas
Twelve year old Sara Shahnazi was at her home for Christmas when she received the best gift she could've asked for. Her cousins came from Chicago, Illinois to spend Christmas. Her immediate family was there with her as well. Young Sara constantly asked her parents for a Nook, and all that begging paid off. The evidence was under the Christmas tree; a rectangular package wrapped in glimmering gold paper. After she tore the wrapping paper off, she was so happy that she almost wrecked other people's presents by jumping up and down. So I guess one thing is proven, good things do come in small packages.
